why conflict? if Gary can get a way for Ajax to leave something ACTUALLY VALUABLE behind(instead of stuff he thinks are great but for us humans are silly), all parties could be happy, Gary has a job, Ajax can get materials he needs, and the company will not be losing money wise, at least until OMJ finds a way to damage EVERYTHING
Ajax is using the age-old barter system that society once used in lieu of money. It’s not really a conflict of interest for Gary, but definitely a challenge for him to meet the job requirements. He’s not about to out the Colony, but he does have to “plug the leak.”
Gary may have to invoke the likes of Edgar Allan Poe. If he gets the conspirators drunk, he can wall them up and cease the pilfering – The Cask of Amontillado. Then he can invoke another of Poe’s sayings, “quoth the Raven – ‘Nevermore'”.
You’re right, SassyLady. I got carried away by the thought of building the wall and the vision of Poe’s story wouldn’t go away – especially with the “Nevermore” signifying a permanent solution. But it was too inhoomanane! But the barter, suggested by Wiseguy, won’t satisfy management either because inventory will be all awry. Hey, maybe a giant picture of OMJ looking down at the opening would frighten them away.

Oh, No Bald Eagle. He can’t do that! Gary must find a more hoonumane way. I say, “Let’s Make a Deal!”
