If you never saw Clint Eastwood’s Play Misty For Me, then this strip won’t make much sense. You can get some background on Clint’s thriller at Wikipedia.
I haven’t seen “Play Misty For Me”, though I understand it is a classic. I’ve seen most/all of the westerns and the Dirty Harry movies. Then there are a few that sneak by you – I remember an aunt that thought she had seen them all, so I asked how she liked “The Bridges of Madison County”. She looked puzzled, so I cranked up the VCR and we watched – she was thrilled. Clint is a well-rounded actor, and has to be, to play all the characters in his repertoire. I wonder how he would have been as Han Solo.
“Misty” was Clint’s directing debut and he starred in it as well. It said a lot about him, his love of jazz, women and the town of Carmel.
Jessica Walter paved the way for Glenn Close with respect to female psychos. Come to think of it, Donna Mills and Jenny share a certain look.
I meant to say that I saw it several times. I do believe that I have seen all of Clint’s movies, but the westerns more than others because of the men in my life who can’t get enough of him in those spaghetti westerns.
