Hoo-Boy … Ajax and his tunneling ways may have to change when working underneath the garden-a-holic Louis Gargoletti. Is this a turf claim versus mineral rights squabble??
So whose FAULT is it that you’re living there, Ajax? I notice there is no groundswell of enthusiasm this morning. At least Ajax is protected from tornadoes.
Oh, it not your FAULT, Ajax – It’s Louis! But he doesn’t know you live there. So it’s nobody’s FAULT – It’s just happenstance.
Ignorance is no excuse…ask any cop. Ajax knows what’s above but Louis is ignorant of The Colony below. Will there be retaliation? Once the garden is planted, fertilized, and watered, chemical rain will fall in the Colony. Is the Colony protected by the EPA? Ajax will have to make it known to the authorities and their secret is revealed. Or, they can just enjoy the root vegetable…potatoes, carrots, turnips, parsnips…all for the taking. Meanwhile, Louis will wonder what happened!
Wiseguy, you amaze me with your links. Could you find one for me that will pay off all my bills and fatten up my starving bank account, interest and tax free?
Going waaaaaay off topic, but having said that reminded me of a story…true. One of my neighbors once said she was considering turning to prostitution to pay off their mortgage. Her husband started laughing. She asked him what was so funny. He said the thought of all those dimes and nickels rolling in.
Frank, I have to reply to myself as you don’t provide a “reply” to your comment. “@bald – I never heard of the TIPS acronym. Pretty good!”
At any rate, the web-site for my info is http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060918122509AArQggX.
Years ago, I heard that acronym explained – when the standard tip was 10%. The other day, I read a query asking if you had to tip if the service is poor – the answer is “Yes” unless there is a flagrant problem such as the waiter spitting in your food. It went on to say that regardless, “the standard tip is 15% and 20% is better”
Quite a bit different than the original purpose – to reward the waiter for exceptional service!
@sassy- as we close in on the one year mark, I’ll be getting more into a marketing state of mind. Buttons, shirts, signed reprints etc. are all on the table of considerations. ajax plushies are still a ways off, but I think he’s a natural. First, tho, I have to get this website up to date.
Frank, I’ll never forget your launch date…6/20 My Birthday. I said it was a great present…and it is. I visit it every day. It fits and the price is right. Never considered returning it or exchanging it, although I have shared the link with others when I tell them about “my online friend from Tonawanda.”
@Sassy – I really appreciate that you toot the horn for Clinton’s Ditch. I’ve long since quit trying to figure out who will take a liking to it and to our little community. That’s the real goal of cartooning on the web, not just the strip but the “Club” feeling you get with a group of regulars. Greg Evans has that big time and further enhances the feeling by communicating with his readers.
@bald- you’re only allowed to go so deep with the comments, then tbe reply option disappears. I’ll see if I can enable the settings to allow for a couple more levels of replies.
@Bald & Frank I knew of the acronym for quite awhile. Many restaurants automatically add 18% for tables of 6 or more. My couosin’s hubby has certain criteria for tipping. He starts out with 20% and deducts based on what he considers bad service…they lose 5% if they don’t smile when they come to the table, for starters. If they bring a spoon and a fork with dessert, he gives an extra $5!!! Only once did that happen. I had them to dinner on Monday and had an Asian broccoli slaw salad. He wanted a spoon for that – kept stabbing at it, holding the fork upright to show he couldn’t get it on the fork, but I wouldn’t give it to him. I showed him how to hold the fork to eat it properly. When he saw I wasn’t going to get the spoon, he finished it up pretty fast. LOL

@bald – you win posting honors by default.
Bellow Louis place, the colony could build an ice cream parlor, they should have wonderful shakes
“bellow Louis”… I like that! That would be quiet Louis’ loudmouth twin.
Frank, I want “like buttons!

No, not tips…he thought that’s all anyone would be willing to pay.
